Troubleshooting tips for testing Geochat's international gateways (numbers starting with +44, +45, +61)

1. Most countries are covered by international geochat numbers. If you have a specific goechat number for your country, then skip to step #4
2. See if you can send and receive international messages. For example, send a message to a friend in the US or Europe and see if they can reply
3. Make sure your country and phone company is in the list of supported companies in our Coverage page
4. Based on that send a text message saying #ping to the number listed for your phone company. If you get a reply from geochat, everything will work!

Once you verify your number works, you can then add that number to your account on the webpage or create an account simply by sending your name after the command name, for example

name Nicolas Bonaparte

1. If you don't receive a response from your #ping, try with other phone numbers, and let us know by emailing support@instedd.org
2. If you can't send and receive messages from international numbers, try setting up a local gateway instead
