Bulk Member SignUp
Many members can be added and joined to a group in batch, using the Bulk SignUp feature. This works by either manually entering the following information for each user or uploading it from a CSV file:
- Login: Username
- FullName: Informational only, not used
- DisplayName: User display name
- Phone: Phone number in international format
- Email: Email address
You can access to the bulk sign up by clicking on the “bulk users sign up” in the group properties page.
If the user is already registered with GeoChat, it will be joined to the group. Otherwise, a new user will be created.
When matching the users, Login, Phone and Email fields are used. If more than a user matches the record is rejected. For instance if a user is found with the indicated phone number and another one matches by email, the match is considered invalid. If more than one field was specified for an existing user, then, all of them have to match. This is to avoid inviting the wrong user to the group.
Entering user data manually
All these fields are optional, but at least Login, Phone or Email must be specified.
Uploading a CSV file
The field names being used must be present in the first row of the file.
After uploading the CSV file, a review page shows errors and validation results. Records displayed with red background will be ignored. Pressing the Confirm button all those records without errors are processed and the users are invited to the group and created if needed.
